Created in 1998, it is the first of its kind in Spanish-speaking Latin America. Our PhD program is oriented towards the training of researchers in Statistics, covering foundational aspects as well as computational aspects and modern statistical modeling. Given the active presence of Statistics in different scientific and industrial activities, the program may also be of interest to professionals from other disciplines who wish to reach an advanced level of statistical training.

The objective of the program is to provide a solid and advanced training in Statistics, granting the necessary tools for the development of a career in research, as well as preparing high-level professionals to develop applied research in extra-university institutions.

The doctoral program in statistics is accredited for five (5) years, until September of 2020. The degree conferred by this programa is Doctor in Statistics.
