Research Areas

The research areas that can be developed by our students are:

  • Classical Statistical Methods: Develop and study the properties of classical statistical models. Specific interests include the theory of parametric probability distributions, the development of local and global influence measures, sampling techniques, and time series.
  • Bayesian Statistical Methods: Develop and study the properties of Bayesian statistical models. Specific interests include the development of parametric and non-parametric Bayesian models.
  • Applied Statistics and Data Science: Develop and study the properties of statistical methods that can be used through science. Develop and study the properties of statistical methods to identify patterns and make predictions based on large volumes of data. Specific interests include the social and biomedical sciences, and the development of statistical techniques and machine learning.
