Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile is among the top universities in Latin America and its Faculty of Mathematics is the academic unit responsible for the development, promotion and transfer of mathematics and statistics. It has more than 70 full-time academics who carry out research, teaching, innovation in teaching, technology transfer, and outreach.

Applicants are expected to carry out teaching in mathematics courses for different university degrees, as well as research, innovation, and transfer tasks on mathematics teaching at the university level. The teaching load is 6 courses per year, distributed over two semesters.

Applicants must have a Doctorate degree in Mathematics, in Education with a solid background in mathematics, or equivalent, experience in university lecturing and a

background in innovation in teaching. Depending on the experience of each applicant, other aspects of academic performance can be considered during the selection process, such as administrative experience and outreach development. The salary offered is competitive and the academic hierarchy and starting salary will be adjusted to the policies and regulations at the time of joining the university. These regulations acknowledge and value the previous trajectory of the candidatures.

The starting date for the position can be in March or August 2023.

In case of being selected for the position, a foreigner applying from abroad will need to have the corresponding visa, obtained at the Chilean consulate in their country of residence, in order to be incorporated to the academic staff of the university. It is expected that the chosen candidate will be able to teach in Spanish at the latest after a year in the university.
