Assistant professors in our Department have a teaching load of three one-semester courses per year, reduced to two courses during the first two years. Appointees are expected to teach in Spanish after one year. The starting annual salary is around 27,800,000 Chilean pesos (approximately 40,000 USD).In addition, appointees will be eligible for a starting grant of a total amount of 8,000,000 Chilean pesos, to be spent over a period of two years in research activities such as traveling, participation in conferences, academic visits, and students.

The minimum requirement for applicants is a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics or a closely related field. It also is expected an excellent research record and a strong commitment to teaching.
