Assistant professors in our university have a teaching load of three courses per year, reduced to two courses during the first two years.  Appointees are expected to teach in Spanish after one year. The starting annual salary is around 28. 423.000 Chilean pesos (approximately 41,000 USD), negotiable according to previous experience.

In addition, appointees will be eligible for a starting grant of a total amount of 8,000,000 Chilean pesos, to be spent over a period of two years in research activities such as traveling, participation in conferences, academic visits, and students.

The minimum requirement for applicants is a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics. It also is expected an excellent research record and a strong commitment to teaching and research. Females and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
